If you could go back in time and see just 1 blues performer....who would it be?

This is one of my favorite blues debates and there are really no wrong answers. For me I can narrow it down to 3 pretty easily....Freddie King, Howlin Wolf, and Michael Bloomfield. I think Bloomfield is the first to be eliminated leaving me with a choice of the Wolf or Freddie King. I love them both pretty much equally but if I could only pick one to go back in time and see I have to say it would be Howlin' Wolf....would have loved to have been able to dig his show on the Southside in the 60s. So what about you? Who would you go back and see if you had the chance.

Which exclusive live recording would you like to hear featured on our next Podcast?

Welcome to the new Bluesexplosion.com

Just a quick note to welcome you to the new and (hopefully) improved bluesexplosion.com It has been way too long since we had a full site up and running so it's great to be back online. The goal with this new version of bluesexplosion.com is to provide an online blues community for blues fans everywhere to celebrate the music they love. Sure we'll probably be a bit biased towards Chicago blues here....but can you blame us? The one thing we promise is that (as always) we'll do our best to provide the best in over 80 years of the blues....along the way you'll get to hear some interviews with the musicians, some exclusive live blues recorded right here in Sweet-Home-Chicago, some old broadcasts of the Drivetime Radio version of TCBX, and a few other surprises (Blues Booty anyone??) as well. So enjoy your visit, if you feel like contributing a review, a story, a blues experience please do so and most importantly thanks for helping to support Live Chicago Blues!
